Spain’s Aldaia recognizes Armenian Genocide
The Aldaia municipality in the Valencian Community of Spain has officially recognized the Armenian Genocide. By approving the resolution, Aldaia became one of the dozens of Spanish municipalities to have recognized the Armenian Genocide. The resolution, which was submitted by Ararat Armenian Association of Valencia, was presented to the Aldaia City Council session floor by Left Union Spokesperson Juanjo Llorente. All the four political parties represented in the city council voted in favor of the resolution, recognizing the crime perpetrated by the Ottoman Empire as genocide and condemning its denial. Members of the Valencia Armenian community and Spanish political and public figures attended the meeting.
