Khachatur Kokobelyan urges to publish list of voters with ID cards
During the discussion of the draft amendments to the Electoral Code and the Law on ID Cards, Armenian lawmaker Khachatur Kokobelyan said one of the most important issues for our citizens is the exercise of their right to vote in national elections and referenda. I will not say a new thing announcing that vote rigging is the biggest challenge to the RA. Everyone has spoken about electoral fraud. Ballot rigging increases corruption risks and the political system is the most corrupt system. We must do everything so that this bill does not cause unnecessary confusion. To this aim, he proposes to do three things: it is necessary to immediately publish the list of those who have only ID cards; we need to decide if a citizen has both a passport and ID card, he/she must vote only with a passport; it is necessary to raise the level of control of proxies. I suggest introducing the the mechanism of finger inking during elections at least for those who have ID cards. He does not take time and will not cause technical problems.
