October 27 was the culmination of murders committed in our country, says member of “New Armenia” movement Jirayr Sefilyan. He claims that since 1990 the Armenians, as a nation and as a political class, haven’t been able to act in the logic of constitutionality, “The fact that in 1995 we had a Constitution, doesn’t mean that we, as political players, have mastered that culture. We consider that the biggest gap, due to which the process of building a state went wrong, was the absence of the constitutionality among the political elite.” Mr. Sefilyan reminds that there have been numerous political murders in Armenia since 1990 and most of them haven’t been revealed, “In particular October 27: we all know how that ridiculous preliminary investigation ended.” Jirayr Sefilyan is sure, while the political murders aren’t revealed, we will not become a state, what we have today shouldn’t be called a state. Touching upon the future steps of “New Armenia” movement and answering the question, whether it is possible that the members of the movement will have proxies at the polling stations on the day of referendum, Jirayr Sefilyan answered, “Different forces involved in the front can have different strategies, we have come to a conclusion that the people must gather on December 1 and the actions must be decided there. At the moment I can say that we are not interested in it.”
