Today is October 27: after 16 years there are still unanswered questions (video)
October 27 of 1999 is the most tragic and shameful page in the history of newly independent Armenia.
The authorities of Armenia were beheaded on October 27, 1999. Eight people were killed: the NA President Karen Demirchyan, the RA Prime Minister Vazgen Sargsyan, the NA Vice Presidents Yuri Bakhshyan, Ruben Miroyan, MPs Mikayel Kotanyan, Henrik Abrahamyan, Armenak Armenakyan, Minister Leonid Petrosyan.
Late in the evening the bodies of the killed were removed from the parliament building. The negotiations with the terrorists lasted until morning. The former incumbent President Robert Kocharyan held a face-to-face meeting with the main criminal Nairi Hunanyan.
In the morning the hostages were freed, the criminals surrendered by receiving guarantees of security.
The terrorists, who shot dead the leadership of the state, were sentenced to life imprisonment.
Three of them died in different circumstances: Norayr Yeghiazaryan died of electric shock, uncle of criminal brothers Vram Galstyan committed suicide and Hamlet Stepanyan died suddenly.
Former culprit in the case of October 27 Mushegh Movsisyan, who was released on the basis of insufficient evidence, died in a car accident. Some of the witnesses of the incident, who left the RA in a very short period, died in suspicious circumstances.
