Publication of judgment in the case of “Perinçek v. Switzerland”: live (video)
The ECtHR Grand Chamber will soon deliver the judgment in the case of Perinçek v. Switzerland. Armenia has intervened as a third party in this case. The intervention of the Republic of Armenia was due to the Court’s position that it has no calling to address the legal wording of the Armenian Genocide, and, therefore, will not address the substantial issues relating the crimes committed by the Ottoman Empire against Armenians in 1915, but nevertheless, in its judgment it has referred to the historical fact of the Armenian Genocide and made evaluative assessments principally unacceptable for Armenia. The judgment also included a number of contradictory assessments.
