Refugee from Baku: “Waiting for a house for 25 years” (video)
In anticipation of better life more than twenty years. 83-year-old Rafik Avakimyan was one of 400.000 refugees, who settled in Armenia after Baku massacres. “My family fled in a wagon and I stayed there. Then I came, I left my house and came,” he recalls. With a nine-member family they lived in a hostel for a year. Then Rafik Avakimyan found a dilapidated territory on Artsakh Street and repaired it on his own. After the death of his wife he lives alone. Two of three children moved to Russia with their families. His daughter, who has stayed in Yerevan, still lives in the hostel. Details in the video
