“We have nothing to give or surrender. We have territories occupied by Azerbaijan and we want to have them back. At the same time, we are for the peaceful settlement of the [Karabakh] conflict, a former deputy defence minister of Armenia told media on September 30. Vahan Shirkhanyan says border incidents will not stop unless Armenia starts attacking the enemy in all possible directions - political, military and economic aspects, especially now when Azerbaijan is experiencing deep economic crisis. The former official agrees with Deputy Defence Minister David Tonoyan, who said as a result of Azerbaijan’s strategy a new ceasefire agreement with new terms will be put on the negotiating table before Azerbaijan’s military-political leadership. “In do not believe that David Tonoyan said these words because he admitted his diplomatic defeat, rather, he said it as a military figure and he was right to say that we should impose new conditions on Azerbaijan,” Mr Shirkhanyan said.
