Members of “You won’t pass” initiative taken to police station
Some members of “You won’t pass” initiative this night intended to write “No” on the walls of the central streets of Yerevan in order to inform people about the nationwide rally at Liberty Square on October 2. In the interview with us “You won’t pass” initiative’s member Davit Hovhannisyan said that the police intervened the actions of the initiative’s members to hold their awareness action and they were taken to Kentron Police Department, “Our friends were released after an hour, before that they had been forced to turn off their phones. Administrative proceedings were initiated against the activists.” Hrayr Manukyan, Karpis Pashoyan, Hayk Avetikyan and Arthur Minasyan took part in the awareness action. In reply to our question whether violence was used against the activists, Hrayr Manukyan answered, “Me and Karpis Pashoyan weren’t taken to police station forcibly, little force was used against Arthur Minasyan and his friend. There were many policemen in Kentron police department and many cars, which followed us even after leaving the police department.” Tomorrow “You won’t pass” initiative will continue the awareness action.
