Freedom fighter does not want to comment on Hayrapetyan's statement
About 50 freedom fighters have gathered near Grigor Lusavorich medical centre waiting for a meeting to decide on their future steps. Smbat Hakobyan, a Karabakh war veteran and a member of the Alliance of Freedom Fighters, was taken to Grigor Lusavorich hospital on September 21 after being brutally beaten in a Yerevan street. Talking to A1+, freedom fighter Razmik Petrosyan spoke about the statement of businessman Ruben Hayrapetyan who said Hakobyan was carrying out a political order by saying the assailants acted upon his order. “I have known Smbat for a long time. We've passed a long long way together, and I know very well who Smbat Hakobyan is and what he has done for this country and I would not like to comment on such statements,” Razmik Petrosyan said. At the same time, he dismissed the reports that Serzh Sargsyan had had a telephone conversation with Smbat Hakobyan. “I do not have such information. But I think that in a normal country the country’s leader would be concerned about the health of a freedom fighter and telephone him to inquire about his health,” Mr Petrosyan said.
