Russia delivering BMP-3 Infantry Fighting Vehicles to Azerbaijan

Russia’s delivery of infantry fighting vehicle (BMP-3) to Azerbaijan will be completed next year, Russian News Agency TASS reports commenting on military-technical cooperation. “Deliveries of BMP-3 to Azerbaijan will be completed in 2016. This year, it is estimated that Russia will deliver about 50 vehicles to Azerbaijan, a representative of the agency said during the opening of the military show Russia Arms Expo 2015 (RAE 2015). Earlier this year, it became known that Russia is completing delivery of T-90S tanks to Azerbaijan. Before that it was reported that in 2017 will finish delivery of a large consignment of arms to Azerbaijan in compliance with an agreement signed in 2010. According to media reports, the agreement concerns delivery of T-90S tanks and BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles (about 100 units) intended for three battalions, including self-propelled artillery, multiple rocket launchers and heavy flamethrower systems. Besides, Azerbaijan has always purchased from Russia repair, recovery and combat engineering vehicles. Experts say that the cost of the agreement amounted to $ 1 billion.
