94-meter Austrian strudel- in front of Armenia Marriott Hotel. Unique action entitled “Austrian day in Marriott” has been held in Yerevan for already 8 years. By tasting one piece of Viennese strudel for 800 AMD, the citizens are given an opportunity to take part in a draw and win the main prize of the event- trip for two to Vienna.
According to Mariam Ohanyan, Sales and Marketing Coordinator at Armenia Marriott Hotel, besides the main prize there are also 7 other prizes, one of them is one-meter strudel made by chef. The draw starts at 18:30. The winners will be chosen randomly.
“Eight years ago, when the initiative started, it was just an idea of holding an interesting event, but when we saw that the visitors like it, they call beforehand and ask when it will be held, ask about the prizes, it motivated us to organize this action better and more luxuriously year after year.
We also think about making it longer in the upcoming years, and maybe we will decide to make along the whole Republic Square and appear in the Guinness World Records. Last year, for example, we made 84-meter strudel, and earlier they were shorter, but now we want to add the length.
The author of the initiative is our former chef, who was Austrian and he founded the event. In this way we intend to introduce Austrian culture to our citizens, to strengthen Armenian-Austrian intercultural ties and share culinary skills,” noted Mariam Ohanyan in the interview with “A1+”.
