Armenian serviceman Gevorg Yeghiazaryan, who was paralyzed after being wounded at a military position in 2011, will leave for Germany next month for a second course of treatment. Gevorg’s family members will travel to Germany with him. The Defence Minister collected $70 000 for the soldier’s treatment but was unable to raise more money for his future treatment in Germany. Armenian citizens also joined the initiative, collecting about $37 000. The remaining $23 000 was allocated by the government. Gevorg Yeghiazaryan received a gunshot wound at a military position in Martakert region on December 27, 2011. Yeghiazaryan has been confined to bed ever since an Azerbaijani sniper’s bullet hit his spine. In the past, the Ministry already provided funding for Gevorg Yeghiazaryan’s treatment, but that course of therapy was not sufficient to get the 23-year-old back on his feet. Armenian citizens have already collected $ 56 000 needed for Gevorg’s treatment abroad. Besides, the Cabinet members have transferred about 11 million drams to the account of the paralyzed soldier.
