Protesters paralyzed traffic (video)
Members of “No to plunder” initiative and hundreds of citizens are marching towards the Prosecutor General’s Office. They are demanding to relive from their posts and punish the policemen, who on June 23 used force against the journalists and protesters on Baghramyan Avenue. The protesters closed Mashtots Avenue and Amiryan Street crossroad. The sit-in strike wasn’t planned. The members of the initiative are also demanding to discontinue the criminal case instituted against Karen Petrosyan in Gyumri. Member of the initiative Maksim Sargsyan notes in the interview with the journalists, “All these scoundrel policemen, who used force and violence against the citizens must be punished. W are demanding guarantees that those policemen will be punished.” Numerous police officers supervise the sit-in strike. One of them told activist Maksim Sargsyan that their sit-in strike is illegal and they must open the street. The protesters say that they will open the street when they receive guarantees.
