“Nairit employees are blackmailed”
“Nairit” plant employees are blackmailed”, member of the coordinating group of “Nairit” plant Anush Harutyunyan told “A1+”, “Now the employees are offered to sign an agreement that after receiving the money they won’t apply to the court for the fines and penalties of salaries’ delay.” She personally wasn’t going to apply to the court taking into account the fact that if every Nairit employee applies to the court, 15 million drams debt will be doubled becoming 30 million. But she also doesn’t understand the meaning of signing an agreement. Anush Harutyunyan also adds that “Nairit” employees already don’t believe that after signing they will receive the money in three days. To remind, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan promised that until July 15 the whole debt of Nairit plant employees must be paid. “Nairit” plant, once the giant industrial complex had 3 000 employees. About 1700 employees of the plant were laid off in February 2015 without receiving their salaries. It is estimated that Nairit owes about $13-15 million in back wages to current and former employees.
