One day of Baghramyan Avenue (video)
On June 25 in the morning the water cannon again started its work on Baghramyan Avenue. Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan has no connection with this one. Nobody notices him anymore. Boys are doing exercises, girls are reading. Psychologist Varduhi Margaryan sees the conflict between material and non-material worlds in the work of German writer Hermann Hesse. Just next to the reader of Hesse some young people are singing patriotic songs about to remain silent or not. Valeri Osipyan, Police Chief of Yerevan, is a part of the square’s daily life. Even repentances can be heard in his presence. This young man’s poster shows- there is no pus. He is making use of his relative peace to remind the people that the policemen are our brothers, though he saw the dawn of June 23, “Independent of the fact whether he has authority to attack me or not, I accept him as my brother.” In another part of the street the brothers are distributing pizza and juice to their relatives in uniform- the policemen don’t accept hospitality. Along the street at some moment Shahen Harutyunyan, who graced the end of the first half of Armenia-Portugal match, is playing football with his friends- national flag instead of the poster, the policemen aren’t running after him. In the evening Baghramyan Avenue won’t be so peaceful and self-employed. But the people will be the same. Even if it is raining.
