Lawmakers form human barricade between protesters and police (video)
Scores of people, including lawmakers, intellectuals, lawyers, clergymen, representatives of show business have responded to Armenian lawmaker Nikol Pashinyan’s appeal and headed from Liberty Square to Baghramyan Avenue at night in order to form a human barricade between the demonstrators and police and exclude further clashes between the sides. Lawmakers Tevan Poghosyan, Aghvan Vardanyan, Artsvik Minasyan, Khachatur Sukiasyan, Khachatur Kokobelyan, Alexander Arzumanyan, Heghine Bisharyan, Davit Shahnazaryan formed a human wall between the protesters and the police trying to prevent violence. Two members of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) - Armen Ashotyan and Samvel Farmanyan – joined the lawmakers at the electricity protest venue but they were met by angry crowd demanding them to leave the area.
