Communists to join march towards Presidential Palace
Secretary of the Communist Party of Armenia (HKK) Tachat Sargsyan will be participating in a rally to be held by the No to Plunder initiative in Liberty Square today evening and the ensuing march to the Presidential Palace at Baghramyan 26. “We shall be with the activists. We could not behave otherwise. Communists are also people who are facing social difficulties and problems. What is the purpose of raising electricity prices in these grave social conditions? It means destroying our fractured economy and worsening social conditions. Today many families cannot event afford their bare necessities, they do not have money for daily bread,” Tachat Sargsyan told A1+. He urges everyone to join the struggle against the rise in electricity prices. on June 17, the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) unanimously decided to partially grant the bid of the Russian-owned operator, Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA), and raise the current electricity tariffs by AMD 6,93. The ENA had asked for a 17-percent rise, warning that otherwise it would not be able to ensure the reliability of electricity supply within the system.
