Environmentalist says Lake Sevan is put in pledge: Ministry dismisses allegations (video)
Environmentalist Silva Adamyan says she has learnt from a reliable person living in Sevan city that Lake Sevan is put in pledge. “I do not have evidence, but the man I am speaking about is an important and reliable person and if he said such a thing, it means he knows something,” Silva Adamyan said adding that everyone in Sevan is speaking about it the ‘deal’ today. The environmentalist says she will be consistent and study the issue until she finds out the truth. Speaking about the reports that gold has been found in the lake, Silva Adamyan said it is a myth. The environmentalist was late for the press conference. She said a Jeep had wanted to hit and kill her. “I was alone. Thanks God, nothing happened to me. I have spoken about many problems in the country but never has such a thing occurred to me. Once I spoke about the problem of Sevan, I was involved in such an incident,” she said. In response to the environmentalist’s statement, the Ministry of Nature Protection said the press reports about Lake Sevan do not correspond to reality. “Sevan has a strategic significance for our republic and is protected by the Law on Lake Sevan.”
