Members of the No To Plunder initiative have stated an indefinite sit-in at Liberty Square in Yerevan to protest the rise in electricity prices. Earlier the demonstrators planned to hold a march from the square but several minutes before the procession, they changed their mind and announced a sit-in to protest the pending electricity price hike. The demonstrators are determined to stay at the square until Monday. They demand that the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) which partially approved the request by Russian-managed Armenian Electricity Network to raise prices by 7AMD/kWh, annul its decision and leave the electricity tariffs the same. People gathered at Liberty Square are waiting for Serzh Sargsyan and Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan to interfere and avert the electricity price hike. The demonstrators believe that people cannot change the situation sitting in their homes, whereas staying at the square they will be able to prove that they are the masters of this country.
