Armen Harutyunyan has the best chances to be elected to the ECHR
Touching upon the fact of approving former Human rights defender Armen Harutyunyan’s candidacy by Selection Committee of Judges at ECHR, Arayik Ghazaryan, a lecturer of “Academy of Justice” SNCO, noted in the interview with us, “The ECHR made a decision, that it gives preference to one candidate out of three candidates. It means that there are three candidates but Armen Harutyunyan has the best chances to be elected. It is a normal, established procedure.” To remind, Armenia has three candidates for the position of a Judge at the ECHR. They are Armen Harutyunyan, Arayik Ghazaryan and Liana Hakobyan. Armenia’s Judge at the European Court will be finally elected by the vote of summer session of Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe on June 22-26.
