“No to Plunder” civil initiative today organized an awareness motor rally in Armenia’s second largest city of Gyumri. The participants of the action drove along the city streets, urging the locals to gather for a rally to be in Yerevan and across Armenia on June 19 against the rise in electricity prices.  The group was joined by activists from Maralik and other villages. “Today the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PRSC) announced that electricity prices in Armenia will be increased by 6,93 AMD from August 1. However, the rise in rates cannot be explained in any way and is ungrounded, hence each citizen is to decide whether he is going to pay for the plunder or join the struggle against the increase in electricity rates,” activist Armen Nersisyan told Aravot.am. He says the PSRC Chairman Robert Nazaryan and other officials are demonstrating cynical indifference towards citizens and their problems.
