Yevgeny Bibin does not participate in PSRC meeting (video)
The Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) is currently discussing the bids submitted five major power generating companies in Armenia that seek to increase the consumer electricity tariffs in Armenia. Yevgeny Bibin, Executive Director of the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA), is not participating in the meeting. In a letter sent to the PSRC Bibin said ‘his participation in the sitting was impossible.’ ENA seeks a 17-dram rise in the current electricity rate while PSRC Chairman Robert Nazaryan announced that the size of the electricity tariff would be raised by 6.93 drams and would not include the lavish spending of the company. While the PSRC was considering the bids of the five companies, a group of citizens were holding a protest outside the building against the possible rise in energy prices. Some time ago, Hovhannes Margaryan from the Country of Law Party (OEK) entered the sitting hall and said that several party leaders grouped outside the building want to participate in the discussion. Robert Nazaryan allowed that 2-3 representatives from each party be present in the meeting.
