Shant Harutyunyan and his friend started hunger strike
Shant Harutyunyan’s son, Shahen Harutyunayan, wrote on Facebook, that Shant Harutyunyan started hunger strike on June 8 and his friend joined him. “On June 8 my father, political prisoner Shant Harutyunayn, started termless hunger strike in “Vardashen” prison with the demand to transfer him to a separate cell. During these five days it hasn’t been informed about his hunger strike, as there was an agreement that his demand would be implemented until Friday. But my father didn’t stop the hunger strike. On Friday, June 12, not implementing his demand and according to my father’s application, he was transferred to a cell intended for hunger strikers. My father will continue hunger strike until the implementation of his demand. Shant Harutyunyan’s friend Vardan Vardanyan, who is also in “Vardashen” prison, also started hunger strike by joining his friend’s demand. The demand is to transfer them to a separate cell.
