Today former employees of “Nairit” plant held a protest action near the Government building again demanding to solve the issue of their unpaid salaries. They were wearing their white T-shirts and were holding posters. Along with the Government sitting they were chanting “Shame”, “Meeting” and were demanding a meeting with Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Natural Resources. Later they decided to move towards Tigran Mets crossroad and close the busy section by paralyzing the traffic. Policemen started to urge and demand to leave the street and to continue the protest action near the building. Nairit employees agreed but only on one condition, if the Government and Prime Minister don’t listen to their demands, upcoming Tuesday they will start 24-hour sit down strike. As former employee of “Nairit” plant, coordinating group member Anush Harutyunyan announced, they are giving time to the Government, or else on Tuesday they will come with chairs and pillows. There was a disagreement between “Nairit” employees, one part was complaining that it was wrong to listen to Anush Harutyunyan and leave the street breaking wave of protest in that way. These words offended Anush Harutyunyan, “I don’t understand the meaning of such announcements. Would you like me to let them beat us, is it your attitude?” By the way, police officers were also approaching and assuring “Nairit” employees that they support these actions and urged them not to close the street and not to violate public order. In the end, former employees of “Nairit” plant left expecting to return on Tuesday.
