Over 200 000 Armenians continue to stay in Syria amid ongoing hostilities there, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Head of the Chair of Global Politics and International Relations at the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University Arman Navasardyan said earlier on Wednesday. What measures has Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs taken [or is going to take] in order to help Armenians remaining in Syria go out of the country. “Those who raise such questions should, first of all, remember about the situation in Syria.  Let us look at the map and say whether it is physically possible to carry out such an operation.  After that they may give up the temptation of asking such questions,” Tigran Balayan, Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told A1+. “Over 200 000 Armenians cannot leave Syria. I do not think that the situation will stabilized in the country in the near future and I believe that the Armenian Government could have taken measures to help these people and move them elsewhere,” Arman Navasardyan said today.
