Not a penny more: Pressure group reminds government of its demands
A pressure group campaigning against the possible rise in electricity tariffs in Armenia has issued a statement expressing its displeasure with authorities’ assurances that the increase in electricity rates is inevitable. “We do not pay taxes for them to be engaged in demagogy and try to persuade citizens that their poor management has no other alternative and they can walk away unpunished,” the group said in the statement. “No to Robbery” group urges the authorities to be professional in their work and provide citizens guarantees in the shortest timeframe that electricity tariffs will not be raised. “We call on them [authorities] to begin the process of tariff reduction otherwise their tenure of office is finished for us,” the group said reminding the government that they refuse to pay a penny more for electricity.
