“Don’t you think that the judicial system depends on Serzh Sargsyan?” To this question by a journalist at the NA, former judge of Armenia in the ECHR, CC member Alvina Gyulumyan answered, “I cannot mention particular individuals but I agree, there is no full independence, alas. And first of all, I connect it with the personality of a judge. Regardless the pressure, a judge can resist if he wants.” “In that case the judge will be dismissed,” to this view Mrs. Gyulumyan answered, “Yes, there were judges, who were dismissed, but all the judges cannot be dismissed. Judges themselves must want to be independent.”
