The Ninth Bologna Process Ministerial Conference and the Fourth Bologna Policy Forum opened at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Complex Center in Yerevan on May 14. In his addressing remarks, Serzh Sargsyan said education is the cornerstone on which a society is built, providing greater opportunities for students. “It is one of the most important achievements in the education system of Armenia and the Bologna Process is an honourable commitment for us.   Education is not an end in itself, it serves the common values. I am sure that the important decisions to be made in Yerevan will be of great importance to students and educators of Europe, creating a new foundation for economic development and stability,” he said. Armenian Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan spoke at the pan-European education event in English. He stressed that education reforms require political will. “People sometimes criticize educational reforms taking place in different countries. We need to preserve what we have, we need to adhere to the values of the European educational space. We are ready to share our experience, creating more solid bridges for our society and youth,” said Mr Ashotyan. The Ministerial event has brought together 47 EHEA delegations, as well as the Bologna Process consultative members and partners.
