Republican lawmaker Artak Davtyan is impressed by the May 9 parade held in Moscow. He says leaders of 30 countries participated in the event. At the same time, Mr Davtyan finds it strange that Turkey was not represented in Moscow.  “Everything is not as smooth in Turkish-Russian relations as it may seem. This became evident when Russian President visited Armenia to participate in the events marking the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide,” the Republican MP said.  “The sanctions imposed on Russia are temporary in nature,” he added. “They are not temporary,” said Anush Sedrakyan, Vice-Chairperson of the Free Democrats Party. “If they continue for another six months, some sectors will be impossible to recover. Russia has already lost its full potential and is now seizing lands.” She says Ukraine is a key player in the Eurasian Economic Union but its role has weakened now, and Armenia cannot expect any profit from the structure. We were forced to join the EEU. “Now Armenia is trying to snatch something from the EEU, particularly from Russia,” she stressed. “We had no alternative but to join the EEU,” said Mr Davtyan. “And now Armenia is striving to become a bridge between Russia and other countries. And why shouldn’t we do it if we have good relations with these countries?”
