Defence Minister clarifies Zhirayr Srfilyan's position (video)
Armenia's Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan, accompanied by Chairman of the Yerkrapah Union of Volunteers, General Manvel Grigoryan, and high-ranking officials, today visited Yerablur Pantheon on Yerkrapah Day. Minister Seyran Ohanyan stressed that the Yerkrapah Union of Volunteers has proved that it is a developing structure that carries out extensive work in the field of military education and helps its members living in different communities solve social problems. Journalists also asked Mr Ohanyan about Zhirayr Sefilyan, Commander of the Shushi Special Battalion. He said they care about all their comrades-in-arms. “Today we have an established country and if someone is arrested it means there are some suspects or problems connected with him or he has made a violation. You had better address the question to law enforcement agencies,” said Minister Ohanyan. Commenting on the words of Manvel Grigoryan who said on Friday that Sefilyan was not commander of Shushi special battalion, Seyran Ohanyan said, “Sefilyan was commander of 77the Motorized Artillery battalion stationed in Shushi.”
