In order to present its demands to Turkey Armenia needs to be as strong as Israel, says political analyst Levon Shirinyan. Speaking about the events marking the centennial of the Armenian Genocide, the specialist said, “An important thing happened these days. The Armenian Genocide has become a matter of global civilization. The statement made by the two key leaders- François Hollande and Vldimir Putin was really important. “In their speeches, they referred to the statement of Entente which condemns the massacre of 1.5 million Armenians by Ottoman Turkey,” Mr Shirinyan said. The political analysts says it is especially important that in the statement the allies – France, England and Russia – blame the crime against the Armenians on Turkey and say Turkey should be made accountable for the crime it committed. The statement made by the three leaders also says that carnage was committed in Turkey against humanity and civilization. Mr Shirinyan says Turkey has been laid off from civilization, and now we must be most careful: in case the United States recognizes the Armenian Genocide, Turkey and Russia will draw closer. The equilibrium of forces will be upset in the result which is not beneficial for Armenia. “What we witnessed these days was a mere show. The real processes will be kept unnoticed for us. Super powers are playing their game, and Armenia is to take the right decision in the current situation,” he said.
