Communists given free ice-cream and buns
Long live May Day! Long live Labour Day! Long live the Communist Party! These words could be heard in downtown Yerevan where members of the Communist Party of Armenia (HHK) were celebrating Labour Day with red flags and ties. The traditional march in Yerevan to mark May Day (International Workers' Day) started from Mashtots Avenue. The central streets in the Armenian capital were filled with old songs and music. Regardless of their age and sex, everyone was signing and glorifying the working class. The participants of the march stopped for a few minutes in front of the Russian Embassy, played the anthem of the Soviet Union and thanked Armenia’s brother- Russia. “We must fight together against fascism in all countries of the USSR,” said the group. The march wrapped up in a Yerevan park where a beautiful surprise was awaiting children. Today, all attractions and merry-go-rounds of the park are free for children. The participants of the march were given free ice-cream and buns.
