Police stop Founding Parliament members, check their documents
A police car today followed the members of the Founding Parliament movement for two hours before stopping them in central Yerevan. “They stopped us near Tashir shopping center and demanded to see our vehicle documents. After we said we had not violated any traffic rules and did not understand the reasons for their demand, one of the police officers said they had been instructed to check our documents,” Syuzan Simonyan, a member of the Founding Parliament movement, told A1+. After checking the documents the policemen went away without saying anything. In the morning, four female representatives of the opposition group held peaceful actions outside the presidential palace, Cascade and Republic Square, demanding the release of the arrested members of the Founding Parliament. Their last stop was the Armenia Marriott hotel. While the women stood outside the hotel with balloons and posters in their hands that read, ‘Freedom to political prisoners!’ several policemen approached them and tore down the posters, ordering them to leave the area. Later the police officers followed the women in a police car.
