It is still unknown when citizens will be allowed to ascend the Tsitsernakaberd hill to pay tribute to the 1.5 million innocent victims of the Armenian Genocide. The office charged with organization of commemoration events told A1+ that they will make an announcement later in the week or next week. However, state workers have been told that they can start their annual pilgrimage to the Armenian Genocide Memorial after 2.00 p.m. Before that foreign delegations will silently ascend the Tsitsernakaberd hill to commemorate the Genocide victims. French President François Hollande, with 1200 delegates, Russian President Vladimir Putin and other senior officials are expected to arrive in Yerevan on April 24 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the mass killings and deportation of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire.
