“We have Soviet mentality,” said the Artistic Director of the Puppet Theater Ruben Babayan while speaking of the events dedicated to Centennial of the Armenian Genocide. “Everything must come out of the soul, when it becomes just an event, the participation in the event becomes more important than the essence,” he noted in connection with the visit of the HHK women to Tsitsernakaberd Memorial. He thinks that people must go to Tsitsernakaberd with their families. “We must go towards the future with families and not with the ministries,” highlighted Mr. Babayan. He doesn’t want to speak about the visit of actress and model Kim Kardashian to Armenia, “It isn’t my sphere. We are hospitable and we should receive the guest appropriately and not discuss the size of her waist,” he said. The Artistic Director of the Puppet Theater perceives the action initiated by Zhirayr Sefilyan on April 24 to be just an event, which will serve his purposes. Musician Artavazd Bayadyan also sees nothing good in this initiative. “Nothing must be mixed with the Genocide, it was the tragedy of the whole nation. It may be perceived as a non-uniform practice. I think that our state must be more important than personal matters,” he stressed. He considers the visit of the HHK women to Tsitsernakaberd to be normal, “The Republican Party was distinguished as it is the ruling party. It was an action, so they were smiling,” noted Mr. Bayadyan.
