Talks about true and false opposition activated after Serzh Sargsyan invited a number of opposition parties to discuss constitutional amendments. In the next four-day sitting of the National Assembly, the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) is expected to announce its intention to become an opposition force. BHK member Mikael Melkumyan says although the party has decorated itself to be an alternative force, in fact it is an opposition party. Lyudmila Sargsyan, a lawmaker of the Armenian National Congress (HAK), says the speculations about true and false opposition were advantageous to the authorities. She believes that all forces they have been cooperating with are true oppositionists. Vahram Baghdasaryan, Head of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), avoids separating any force as a true opposition party. He says the real opposition must come up with constructive suggestions, keeping the authorities on the alert all the time and making them to start negotiations with them.
