BHK's website currently not available
The parliamentary group of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) will soon convened a sitting to elect head and secretary of the faction, BHK Spokesman Vahan Babayan told A1+. At the party’s extraordinary session on March 5, BHK Leader Gagik Tsarukyan stepped down from the party’s leadership and announced that he was leaving politics. After his speech, BHK member Naira Zohrabyan was elected the new president of the party. Tsarukyan’s withdrawal from politics came after a heated exchange of words between him and Serzh Sargisyan in February, after the latter accused Tsarukyan of usurping funds and fired him from Armenia’s National Security Agency. Tsarukyan fired back by accusing Serzh Sargsyan of robbing people of Armenia form the national wealth. After Tsarukyan’s announcement many BHK members terminated their membership with the party, saying they want to work in parliament as nonpartisan lawmakers. The party’s website is currently not available due to technical problems which Mr Babayan says will be addressed soon.
