Gevorg Kostanyan on his dismissal and criminogenic situation (video)
Attorney General Gevorg Kostanyan in general doesn’t comment on the news. Today after the Government session the journalists asked Gevorg Kostanyan how he could comment on the news that Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan, Head of the Investigation Committee Aghvan Hovsepyan and Head of the Special Investigation Service Andranik Shahinyan united against him in order to dismiss him. “If any official wants to hold a higher position, it is very acceptable and legitimate, as, I am sure, that in case of such ambition the given official will surely work for the development of his personal professional skills, that’s why anyone can have ambitions, especially a senior official,” he said. Mr. Kostanyan also touched upon the present criminogenic situation by noting that it is early to speak of its reasons: “Taking into account the activities directed to toughening of control over volumes of illegal circulation of weapons, reduction or elimination of other circumstances, which are bases for criminal behavior, I am sure that during the discussion of all those crimes we will have a complex and more systematic approach directed to the elimination of that criminogenic situation. We don’t speak of the failures or achievements, we speak of keeping the criminogenic situation under constant control and reduction of more criminogenic circumstances,” noted Attorney General Gevorg Kostanyan.
