Armenian Parliament Speaker Galust Sahakyan today told reporters that no final decision has been made in connection with issue of stripping Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) Leader of his deputy mandate. “I do not want to set a precedent because there are all legal grounds but I am still waiting for additional clarifications. Therefore, I have addressed a letter to [BHK Leader] Gagik Tsarukyan, requesting him to provide reasonable excuses of his absences,” Galust Sahakyan said in reply to the question whether Gagik Tsarukyan would eventually be stripped of his parliamentary seat or not. When asked about the opinion of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia, the parliament speaker said, “The party has already expressed its opinion in connection with the President’s statement.” In reply to the question whether the party members have been forbidden to address Tsarukyan by his nickname, Mr Sahakyan said ‘those are airs and graces which are forgotten soon.’
