HHK to BHK: They realized the menace hanging over their heads (video)
Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) Leader Gagik Tsarukyan did not attend the next four-day parliament session that opened today. Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly, Galust Sahakyan, says they are still studying the reasons for Tsarukyan's absenteeism in parliament. Mr Sahakyan disagrees with the opinion that Tsarukyan continued the struggle for a power change following Serzh Sargsyan’s crackdown on Tsarukyan and his party. “We do not have winners or losers here,” said Galust Sahakyan. Some people understood the ‘menace hanging over their heads,’ says Vahram Baghdasaryan, head of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) faction. “They understood and assessed the consequences of their future actions.” And where is Gagik Tsarukyan. Many are unaware of his whereabouts. Republican lawmaker Manvel Badeyan does not agree that Tsarukyan is quitting politics under the pressre of Serzh Sargsyan. “Serzh Sargsyan is not ousting Tsarukyan from politics, he only says Tsarukyan does not have enough resources to be engaged in politics and the qualities of a political figure,” he said. Republicans can hardly hide their delight that they have been able to neutralize the BHK without any bloodshed. “We did not promise bloodshed. I do not think that Republicans resort to such threats.”
