9 chess players to represent Armenia in Jerusalem
Nine chess players will represent Armenia at European Individual Men Chess Championship 2015 in Jerusalem. As the official website of the championship informs, 251 chess players from 31 countries have submitted applications for participation, 116 of whom are Grandmasters, two- Women’s Grandmaster. It should be noted that Armenia is the 4th with the number of participants after Israel (100 participants), Russia (42) and Ukraine (13). Armenian Grandmasters Hrant Melkumyan, Gabriel Sargsyan, Vladimir Hakobyan, Karen H. Grigoryan, Robert Hovhannisyan, Zaven Andriasyan, Samvel Ter-Sahakyan and first-class chess players Arman Mikayelyan and Vladimir Poghosyan will represent Armenia in Jerusalem. The championship will be held in accordance with Swiss system, 11 rounds. The champion of Europe will be known on March 8.
