Advocates recognized aggravated party (video)
Advocates Argishti Kiviryan and Lusine Sahakyan have been recognized the aggravated party in relation with the case of the incident on January 15. During the candlelight vigil of the Avetisyan family, they were taken to police from the Freedom Square. “No demand was filed and 50 minutes after being taken into police we were freed, we didn’t even enter the police building. Karen Movsisyan ordered to take everybody to police from that place, 13 people were taken to police,”- Lusine Sahakyan told A1+. They consider the actions of police inappropriate, but it was surprising for them to be involved as an aggravated party. In this case they don’t have high expectations. “Police do what they are ordered. I don’t expect that policemen will be punished,”- said Argishti Kiviryan. Today Argishti Kiviryan has been in the Administrative Court for another case, which was instituted against him on April 4 of last year for disobeying a lawful order of law enforcement officers near the building of Attorney General's Office. The rally was organized in support of underage son of “Tseghakron” party leader Shant Harutyunyan. “It is in the process implemented by the authorities to apply pressure on civil activists,”- says Mr. Kiviryan. Police demand 50.000 AMD from him, “If there was justice in the RA, it would be definitely resolved in favor of me. Police acted illegally, my rights were violated and no legal demand was filed.”
