French Ambassador: Terrorists might have been recruited via Internet (video)
France’s Ambassador to Armenia Jean-Francois Charpantier today thanked Armenian Foreign Minister for joining the Paris solidarity march to condemn the deadly attack against the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo. “After the attack on the offices of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in January, the magazine has a circulation of about 4 000 000. This proves that we attach great importance to the principle of freedom of the press,” Jean-Francois Charpantier told reporters on February 4. The ambassador does not exclude that the terrorist acts in France are carried out by leaders of the Islamic groups. “This also refers to the recently proselytized Islamic fundamentalists who are mostly young people and recently fought in Syria, Iraq, and even in Afghanistan, and were recruited via the Internet,” said the French diplomat. Jean-Francois Charpantier also said that French President Francois Hollande will arrive in Armenia in April to participate in the events marking the centennial of the Armenian Genocide.
