Arushanyan family stops hunger strike (video)
Today the Arushanyan family, which had been holding a hunger and sit-in strike for 14 days near the Presidential residence, stopped the hunger strike. They took this extreme step in order to reach a judicial act of justification for their son’s- former employee of HSBC bank, 28-year-old Ashot Arushanyan’s case. He was found guilty of supporting the theft of 56 million 400 thousand drams. The money was stolen from the car of Manana Grain company's deputy director. The relatives are sure that Ashot has no connection with the case and is just a victim and he has been imprisoned for 3 years baselessly. Lavrent Arushanyan says that Serzh Sargsyan has promised to receive them, “He said that he would receive us after the verdict of Court of Appeals, but we are demanding that he receive us before that,”- Lavrent Arushanyan told A1+. But sit-in strike near the Presidential residence will continue.
