A group of Russian legislators have arrived in Armenia’s second largest city of Gyumri. They were met by Armenian lawmakers Martun Grigoryan, Sukias Avetisyan, Arman Sahakyan, Governor of Shirak province Felix Tsolakyan, Gyumri Mayor Samvel Balasanyan and Russia's Consular General in Gyumri Yevgeny Konishev. The Russian MPs went to the cemetery to pay tribute to the members of the Avetisyan family killed on January 12. Valery Permyakov, the main suspect of the crime, is a Russian soldier who had served at Russian military baseN102 before the murder. Permyakov has already confessed to the killings which sparked angry protests last week in Yerevan and Gyumri, with people demanding that he be transferred to the Armenian side and be tried on Armenian soil.
