Deputy Foreign Minister of Japan  Minori Kiuchi thinks that crime in Gyumri is equivalent to terrorism act. On behalf of himself and Japan, he extends his sincere condolences on Gyumri case, “Being a peaceable state Japan continues its fight against terrorism. In this context we want to cooperate with the RA.” Embassy of Japan to the RA has operated since January 1 but it doesn’t have an Ambassador, “Now we are discussing possible candidates. Our financial resources are limited, but we shall do everything to send our Ambassador to Armenia as soon as possible.” Which is the reason that Embassy of the RA to Japan has operated since 2012, but Japan is opening Embassy in Armenia only now? “There are also other countries which have Embassies in Japan, but we don’t have in their countries. We also want very much to have Embassy in the RA, but our financial resources are limited, we are allowed to open 3-5 Embassies in a year.” At present temporary Acting Ambassador Kenichiro Sasae notes that the cooperation of two countries is especially evident in those spheres, where the positions of two countries coincide. He also turns to NK issue, “Japan hopes that Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict will be resolved in the near future within the frames of agreements already obtained.” Embassy of Japan to the RA will implement its first project by giving 102 610 US dollars grant to 25 schools in Ararat region in order to obtain furniture. “Development and Welfare” NGO President Gayane Gevorgyan presents, “After carrying out monitoring and choosing the schools, their representatives again carry out monitoring at the same schools in order to understand the necessity for the provision of the grant.” By the way, Deputy Foreign Minister of Japan is impressed with Armenia. He considers our country beautiful and attractive for tourists.
