Another commando raid repelled: One Armenian killed, another wounded in clashes
Military authorities in the Nagorno-Karabakh (Arstakh) Republic say another Armenian serviceman was killed this night in defending against Azerbaijan’s commando raid. Artsakh’s Defence Army reports that Azerbaijani armed forces launched a sabotage-reconnaissance raid along the Line of Contact [in the direction of Karvachar] on the night of January 21. “The enemy suffered losses and was thrown back. Regrettably, Nahapet Asatryan, born in 1982, was killed during the skirmish. Another soldier, Hovhannes Gasparyan, 1973, was wounded,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement. The Ministry says it shares the grief of the loss and expresses sympathy with the family, relatives and friends of Nahapet Asatryan. Suren Pilosyan, a 19-year-old Armenian serviceman, was fatally wounded in a ceasefire violation by Azerbaijan on the night of January 20.
