“There must be bilateral cooperation of judicial bodies” (video)
The RA Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan notes that according to the international decrees, if a soldier of Russian military base or one of his family members commits a crime outside the territory of a military base, the case will be under the jurisdiction of Armenia. If the crime is committed in the territory of a military base or it is a military crime, it must be under the jurisdiction of Russia. “In this case we have two types of crime, one is a serious crime connected with the murder, and another is a crime which is under the jurisdiction of Russia, that is the desertion of a military base with a weapon. It means that there must be bilateral cooperation of judicial bodies,”- said Kocharyan.
