MInistry: Blizzard, ice and snow on roads
There are closed and impassable roads in Armenia, says the country’s Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations. Vardenyats mountain pass, Sotk-Karvachar and Ashotsk-Tashir roadways are closed because of heavy snowstorm. The roads in Aparan, Spitak, Talin, Aragats are heavy-going. Light snow is reported in Ararat region. Ice crust is observed across the republic. Snow cleaning continues on the roads. The Ministry recommends drivers to use winter tyres. The Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia’s Interior Ministry reports that Stepantsminda-Lars and Ninotsminda-Bavra highways are closed to all vehicles.
