“The flow of seasonal migrant workers into Russia will decrease,”- is sure demographer Ruben Yeganyan. He thinks that the sanctions against Russia will have their indirect influence on Armenians working there, “About 60 percent of our compatriots are engaged in construction in Russia and if sanctions against Russia continue, the resources provided to construction will be reduced, job offers will be reduced and demand for the migrant workers will decrease,”- he explains. According to the information of the demographer, as a result of changes connected with the entrance of migrants, about 200 thousand migrant workers won’t be able to enter Russia. Mr. Yeganyan has difficulty to predict the future of migrant workers in Armenia, “If they aren’t able to go to Russia or work there, it will be very difficult for them as there is no other alternative. If our country isn’t able to create vacancies, private companies will be able to provide vacancies for them.”
